Tracey Foster
Eligible Private Practicing Midwife, International Certified Lactation Consultant, Child & Family health Nurse, Well Women’s Screening & Registered Nurse.
I am a Registered Nurse, Midwife and Lactation Consultant. I have been privileged to be a part of the birthing experience and care of many women both at home and in the hospital/birth centre settings.
I have gained considerable experience working in a variety of midwifery roles, Tertiary Hospitals and Aboriginal Health within a community setting. This includes Caseload Midwife, Antenatal Clinic, Birth Suite, Postnatal Care and Distance Educator with the Australian College of Nursing & Southern Cross University.
I have further qualifications in midwifery, education, child and family health, well women’s screening and International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants.
I am a strong advocate for women, passionate about women centered care and I strongly believe in supporting women to safely achieve the birthing experience they desire, including water birth, VBAC, twins and vaginal breech.
As a lactation consultant, I promote and protect breastfeeding while honoring the mother’s choice about feeding options.
In my spare time, I like to dragon boat, camp and bush-walk with my family and friends.
Amy Plunkett
I completed my Masters of Midwifery in 2009, and in 2010 I chose to have a break from my career and have children. In the last 5 years, I have worked on and off as a Midwife and Registered Nurse whilst raising my 3 beautiful children. I have a passion for providing holistic, women and family centered care; and I strongly believe in the continuity of care model.
I love working with women and their families, and I have a strong interest in hypnobirthing and antenatal education. I would love to become an eligible midwife, and I am currently working towards this. I feel that it is very important for women to know about their midwife during their pregnancy, birth and antenatal journey and I believe that working within a continuity model is the best way to provide this type of care.
